Research
CARE Lab generates Real-World Evidence from large-scale healthcare data — national claims databases, immunization registries, hospital records, and global pharmacovigilance systems — to understand how medicines and vaccines perform across therapeutic areas in routine clinical practice.
Comparative effectiveness research
We compare treatment outcomes across hematologic malignancies, immune-mediated disease, metabolic and cardiovascular disease, infection, and immunization.
Hypothesis-free signal detection and drug repurposing
Not every important finding begins with a hypothesis. We apply data-driven approaches, including scan statistics, Bayesian methods, and machine learning to Real-World Data, screening broadly for safety signals as well as drug repurposing candidates.
Innovative study design methodology
Supporting regulatory decision-making
Real-World Evidence is only as trustworthy as the design that produced it. We develop study designs that make Real-World Data usable for regulatory decision-making: external control arms that supplement single-arm trials with comparators drawn from real-world data, and methods for RCT generalization and transportability — predicting how trial results carry over to patients who were never enrolled, or who would not have been eligible at all.
International research networks
A substantial part of our work is carried out through multinational consortia that pool data across health systems, allowing questions to be answered at a scale and diversity no single country can reach. We currently collaborate with partners in more than ten countries.
